In the spring of 2023, Meadow Creek High School Theater Teacher John King with support from Georgia Tech Innovators and Coach presented Charolettes Web, telling the story of a lucky pig who is shown what an unconventional family looks like.
The stage design was approached through the lens of basic engineering and mathematics, specifically the use of the Pythagorean Theorem to design a custom set of stairs.
Focus was on up cycling of previously used stage flats and platforms.
Students were organized into groups: Actors, Costuming, Sound/Lighting and Set Building/Props.
As a collaboration, Mr. Budners Music Technology students worked with Mr. Kings Sound/Lighting students to provide the sound cues that best suited the plays atmosphere. Additionally, Mr. Budner’s students were tasked with creating original motifs for each character of the play.
